The flame comes from inside and below, causing an illumination effect.

Each candle takes 3 x 2 AA batteries. Batteries are not included.

They may be remotely operated. Sirius Remote Control Sold Separately.

The Sirius remote control can be set to 2-4-6-8 hours or "ON"; "OFF".
